At Stevensville Primary School, we want our students to enjoy the benefits of technology while learning how to use it safely, respectfully and responsibly.
Digital technologies are used in our classrooms to enhance learning and give students opportunities to develop important skills for the future. Teachers choose websites, apps and digital tools carefully and provide guidance and supervision when students are using them.
We teach students about being safe online, including how to protect their personal information, make positive choices, respect other people’s work and respond when something online makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe. Our Positive Behaviour Expectations apply to online spaces too, helping students understand what respectful and responsible digital behaviour looks like.
Students and parents/carers are asked to read and sign our Acceptable Use Agreement, which outlines how digital devices and online resources should be used at school.
We take students’ online safety seriously. Our internet service includes filtering to help protect students from inappropriate content, and we carefully consider the safety and suitability of digital resources used at school. If a concern arises, we respond promptly and work to support the wellbeing of everyone involved.
