Learning from Home

Dear Parents/carers,

Welcome back to Remote and Flexible Learning.

We are continuing to use Google Classroom to deliver online learning and ask that you ensure your child is ready for learning at 9.00 each day. Please ensure that your child completes the daily attendance form or they will be marked as absent. If your child is going to be absent, please ring the school to let us know.

Online Learning

This term, we have made a few changes to the learning program for students in Foundation to Grade 6.

Our focus this term is on Reading. In addition to the Remote Learning Classroom, all students have been invited to join a Reading Classroom.

Each morning teachers will assign and place in the Reading Classroom activities that students need to complete every day.

Teachers will be ringing students regularly to have reading conversations and discussions about their learning. Please answer any calls that may be from an unknown number as this will possibly be your child’s teacher ringing to make contact.

In the Remote Learning Classroom teachers will assign:

F-2: mathematics, play-based learning activities and physical activity for students

3-6: mathematics, inquiry, Physical Education and physical activities for students

Online Availability

Teachers will be online from 9.00 am until 12.30 pm each day in the google classroom. From 12.30 pm teachers will focus on the planning of tasks, creating online resources, attending meetings and where necessary, contacting students.

Each year level has provided a timetable for the week which was in your child’s learning support pack.

Video Conferencing using Webex

Webex is the video conferencing solution that the Department of Education and Training offers all Victorian government schools. At some stage, your child might be invited to attend a conference meeting. You will be provided with instructions on how to access Webex before your child connects.

Please contact the school during school hours if you have any questions or technical issues.

Stay home, stay safe
